Bio

gina pignatelliBorn in Gallipoli and raised in the picturesque Salento Area, just teen, she had shown a spontaneous predisposition to research and sperimantation of shapes and colours in painting by mixing her technical background with a strong passion for philosophy and art history.

In the last two decades she studied ancient oil painting and renaissance techniques including an iconographic course. Currently, “Dialogues” among light, colour and movement are her main field of research.

Her very first personal exhibitions were held in Bari, with “Gea Terra Madre” (Gea mother earth) organized within the historic building of the Province of Bari with the participation of the art critic Raffaele Nigro.

In 2011 she exposed her paintings in France, participating in the 55° International Exhibition of Contemporary Art organized by “Société des Beaux-Arts de Béziers”, and the seventh edition of the International Fair of Contemporary Art, Paris Art Shopping, held in the iconic Louvre Building, Carrousel du Louvre.

In 2012 she opened her first personal exhibition named “miAnima” (My Soul) in Milan at Galleria Spazio Museale Sabrina Falzone. Furthermore some of her works were selected at the 22nd edition of the International Istanbul Art Fair, held in Istanbul, Turkey.

gina pignatelliIn 2013, Gina’s work “Solarità Salentina” (Solar Salento) is selected for the “International Biennial of Contemporary Art”, (edition 2013), organized by the magazine Italia Arte at the Zhou Brothers Art Center Foundation, Chicago, United States. In the meanwhile she continued to participate in numerous events in prime location in Puglia.

She lives and works in Rome, Bari and Salento.
